Eligibility Guidelines

Be a child, stepchild, grandchild or step-grandchild of a current Lensing employee. Consideration will be given to special family circumstances outside of this scope.

Plan to pursue a post-secondary diploma, certificate or apprenticeship.

Achieve at least a B average during your previous four semesters of school. Consideration will be given to applicants who don’t meet this grade point average.

How can the scholarships be used?

The Lensing Building Specialties Scholarship aims to help our team members’ children and grandchildren progress toward their ideal careers. The scholarship is not degree- or institution-specific nor is it limited to the traditional four-year college path. The funding can be used to pay for tuition, books or institution-sponsored room and board at any trade school, college or university.

The Lensing Building Specialties Scholarship is $2,000.

Two deserving candidates will be awarded $2,000 scholarships to pay toward tuition, books or institution-sponsored room and board.

Applications for the scholarship will open in early 2026 and will be accepted until March 31, 2026.

All applicants are required to submit the following documents to be considered for the scholarship.

  • Transcripts from your previous four semesters of school
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • 500-word minimum essay explaining your education and career goals and how this scholarship can help you achieve them.

The scholarship must be used in the current or upcoming school year when it is awarded.

The scholarship can be used to pay for tuition, books or institution-sponsored room and board at any trade school, college or university. This scholarship is open to individuals pursuing a skilled trade or apprenticeship and students working toward an associate, bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree.

Upon receipt of proof of registration, Lensing Building Specialties will pay the student the scholarship total.

No. The scholarship is not transferrable.
